BlackBook Workshop in Sweden feat. "Part One"
Monday the 16th of March saw the first ever Black Book Workshop at the Berghs School of Communication in Stockholm Sweden. The organisers of this unique event managed to import Old Skool Graffiti legend "Part One" from New York City to welcome the students into the Graffiti Culture phenomenom of Black Booking.
Part One from TDS – The Death Squad – has brought his art to Stockholm, Sweden. The ambitious program includes both lectures and workshops – and an exhibition called Part One Longevity at Bastard Gallery.
Berghs School of Communication is one of the leading schools in Scandinavia on Graphic Design and Marketing, and the school was the first to engage in Part One’s visit to Sweden. "As a drawing or sketchingtechnique it´s definitely relevant as a Graphic Designstudent to explore and develop the possibilities working with Blackbooks. Enrique was also a great tutor and inspiring personality " says Pålle Petterson, course director Graphic Design, Berghs School of Communication.
Part’s activity at Berghs included a lecture for students at the school and invited guests of the Stockholm graffiti community, two workshops in Blackbook techniques with the students in Graphic Design. Part One also did a piece in the school building. The piece and the workshops were supported by Montana, so that each student got a blackbook and the school got a wide selection of markers to use.
Part One’s visit was widely appreciated by the students of the school as well as the staff. Especially the workshops were a great success, and the students only reluctantly gave up working in their books when it was time to quit. On the behalf of Part One and as project leader of Part One’s visit in Sweden I would like to thank Montana for the support – it was crucial for the success of our project.
Check out the pictures and we will hopefully be receiving a few words and some film footage from the organisers soon..
