In febuary 2009 the bremen radio station „bremen vier“ started a unique request in the history of „radio bremen“. For this request everybody was called to make a voluntary contribution to finally achieve a non-commercial aim.
The listeners were asked to search for „the uglyest wall“ in the coverage and to apply with it. Of all the ugly walls, that were registered, a silo-wall in Verden, a small town near bremen, won.
Markus Genesius better known as „Wow123“ agreed to spray the wall – together with his colleague „Puks66“ he turned „the ugliest wall“ into „the prettiest wall“.
About 300 squaremeters had been cleaned, primed and finally sprayed. What was planed to take 3-4 days ended in a 4 weeks lasting action.
To make all that possible a huge amount of people worked voluntarily, offered their time and support and sponsored material, food and shelter to keep the whole thing going and to finally form this impressive artwork.
