The International festival of urban culture "xStatic09" was taking place at Split, Croatia. The festical features a lot of activities and contests like skateboarding, bmx-riding, breakdancing, basketball and of course graffiti.

All these daily events were followed and topped up by two concerts on Friday and Saturday at the Fortress Gripe, featuring the biggest names of the Croatian hip-hop scene like TBF, Elemental, Stillness, Sinestet and many others, with Roots Manuva from London being the star of the show that attracted a crowd of more than 2000 people.

The basic idea of the "xSTatic" festival is to get together as many artists, musicians and athletes from all around the world to participate in the nine categories of the festival: Mc-ing, Dj-ing, Graffiti, Break-dance, Skate, Bmx, In line, Mountain Bike and Street-Basketball.

The swiss Meeting of Styles was founded in 2003 and is known as the biggest graffiti-event in Switzerland. This year its held from 24th til 26th of july at "rote Fabrik" in Zurich! More infos under read more...

At May, 16 was held up the European B-Boy Championship „Evolution Europe“. Venue Place where the “Bürgerhaus” in Linkenheim-Hochstetten, next to Karlsruhe.
Crews from France, Spain, Romania, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Luxembourg entered the Competition.
Around the Spot where some Activities like Graffiti, Bungee Tower and several other Things.

In the evening there were some Showcases from the female MC “FeeBee”, the spanish Beatbox Champ “Markooz” and a special Live Performence from the “OC´S” Band at the Final B-Boy Battle.
The Final was won by “Rugged Solution” from Holland. They will represent Europe at the “Evolution Worldfinals”, which will be in december in Orlando / USA.

In febuary 2009 the bremen radio station „bremen vier“ started a unique request in the history of „radio bremen“. For this request everybody was called to make a voluntary contribution to finally achieve a non-commercial aim.
The listeners were asked to search for „the uglyest wall“ in the coverage and to apply with it. Of all the ugly walls, that were registered, a silo-wall in Verden, a small town near bremen, won.
Markus Genesius better known as „Wow123“ agreed to spray the wall – together with his colleague „Puks66“ he turned „the ugliest wall“ into „the prettiest wall“.
About 300 squaremeters had been cleaned, primed and finally sprayed. What was planed to take 3-4 days ended in a 4 weeks lasting action.
To make all that possible a huge amount of people worked voluntarily, offered their time and support and sponsored material, food and shelter to keep the whole thing going and to finally form this impressive artwork.
